Web 2.0 Learning Opportunities:
My Experience
In this post I am describing my experiences as a trainee of the Second Batch of the web 2.0 learning opportunities held at Faculty Of Agriculture, University Of Mauritius on 23rd to 26th July 2012 conducted by the CTA.
I would first say that I am very happy for being selected to follow this course/ workshop. In this workshop we have been exposed to the wide facilities and opportunities the Web 2.0 offers. These tools primarily make us save in terms of time, money and energy.
source: news-agriculture.blogspotI understand how several users can be invited to contribute on a particular document or project using Google doc. Instant and live communication can be made using Skype and Twitter. Skype offers the opportunity for conferencing in a live discussion. In twitter, I have been able to tweet follow favourite organisations and friends also followed me. In Google maps I have been able to identify sites and finding address worldwide.
There are so many opportunities to use the Web 2.0n tools. So many others exist as shown in the picture:
What I understand each one of them have their advantage and drawbacks. I had a bad experience where one of the trainees deleted my address for my docs I created. This is a good example where sharing google doc should be to known people only and a back up of works should always be kept.
Finally I have been able to contribute to the workshop by making valuable comments and suggestions. These have been taken care of during the workshop. Needless to mentioned how important it is to keep browser update to be compatible with latest features of the Web 2.0, as it is an always issue while browsing to keep the software update.
